Positioned alongside Sydneys iconic Bronte Beach, Waverley House is a conscious rebuild led by visionary owners and redesign experts Tony and Sarah Nelson. Collaborating with Mindful Building for their expertise in passive house construction, this project represents a profound commitment to design principles centred on material purity, sustainability, and a forward-thinking approach to future living.

A standout feature of Waverley House is its state-of-the-art Hydronic underfloor heating system. This innovative system, powered by Stiebel Eltrons advanced electric heat pumps, allows the home to efficiently regulate its thermal mass by pumping either cool or hot water through the concrete slabs. This capability ensures optimal temperature control throughout the year. The entire system is powered by a 15kW Solar PV System paired with a 12.8 kWh Battery System, enabling the house to maintain its heating and cooling needs completely off-grid.

Constructed entirely from ECOPact low-carbon concrete, this home was designed and built with an unwavering dedication to minimising environmental impact. The integration of stainless steel, hardwood timber, glass, and natural fibres throughout the design combines durability with aesthetic elegance.

The minimalist Vitroca window frames enhance both the visual appeal and energy efficiency of the home. Each element of Waverley House has been meticulously selected and crafted to align with the values of conscious construction and environmental stewardship.

Waverley House stands as a beacon of innovative design and sustainable building practices, offering a living space that is both environmentally responsible and architecturally striking. This project sets a new benchmark for future-oriented residential construction, demonstrating how thoughtful design and material choices can create a remarkable, sustainable home.
